Musk Calls-Out Biden

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently criticized the Joe Biden Administration for its handling of illegal immigration in a post on the social media platform X, which he renamed after acquiring the company in 2022. Musk, who resides in Texas, a U.S. border state, expressed his views on the current immigration policies.

In his post, Musk stated, “At this point, there is no question that this administration is actively facilitating illegal immigration. The numbers speak for themselves.” He made this comment in response to a repost that criticized the Biden administration’s border policies, highlighting a significant increase in monthly encounters with illegal border crossers compared to previous administrations.

The repost Musk referred to claimed that during the Biden administration, average monthly encounters at the border have surged to 242,000, in contrast to the 98,000 average under the two preceding administrations. It also pointed out that December 2023 saw the highest single-month record for illegal border crossings in history, supported by a graph showing a sharp increase in border encounters and apprehensions during Biden’s tenure.

Further, the repost included projections for the fiscal year, estimating that border encounters could range between 2.3 million and 6.6 million, aligning with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) 2023 tally of 3.2 million encounters nationwide.

CBP recently informed Fox News that December witnessed a record-breaking 302,000 illegal border crossings, marking it as the month with the highest rate of illegal immigration to the United States ever recorded.

House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) commented on the situation, comparing it to an open fire hydrant and emphasizing the need for transformative policy changes rather than simply allocating more resources to process illegal immigrants. He stressed this point during a CNN appearance on Friday, following a visit by House Republicans to the southern border.
