The nation of Iran is trying to produce illegal weapons of destruction that would put the world at risk. And White House officials are trying to step in before it’s too late.
Secretary of States Mike Pompeo officially released an emergency warning to the nation of Iran stating that America will enforce UN sanctions against the country if it tries to produce weapons that goes against the embargo placed on it. If they proceed, Pompeo says that the White House has “the capacity to execute snapback and we’re going to use it.”
Pompeo made the threat just days after Iran fired multiple missiles at a replica U.S. war ship in an act of aggression.
Iran Is In Trouble
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday gave his clearest indication yet that the United States will push for UN sanctions if Iran doesn’t follow the rules.
Pompeo told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the United States will introduce a resolution to extend the arms embargo to ensure that Iran doesn’t get its hands on powerful weaponry against the law.
“We’re going to take the action necessary to ensure that this arms embargo does not expire.”
Pompeo then said that he would do whatever it takes to defend America’s national security:
“We have the capacity to execute snapback and we’re going to use it in a way that protects and defends America.”
