Before President Trump spoke, CPAC guests were asked to take a straw poll to determine who they would support as the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election. The results of the poll were clear, with Trump winning by a landslide victory of 62%, followed by Ron DeSantis with 20% and Perry Johnson, a Michigan-based businessman, with 1%.
The absence of Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida and a potential Republican presidential candidate, raised eyebrows, as he decided to skip the CPAC event this year. Nonetheless, President Trump’s speech was the highlight of the event, and he delivered several great moments.
