The United States was just forced into action.
According to a new report released by Stars And Stripes, for the first time in years, United States aircraft were deployed from an aircraft carrier in a targeted attack against ISIS soldiers. The successful attack was launched in Iraq and targeted multiple targets being used as ISIS hideouts.
Rare Aircraft Carrier Strike Launched
Using an aircraft carrier for a targeted airstrike is rare. In fact, this is the first time in over two years that the United States has used aircraft carriers to conduct an official strike on ISIS units.
Cmdr. Rebecca Rebarich, a spokeswoman for the Bahrain-based 5th Fleet, confirmed via email on Monday:
“The last such strike was by USS Theodore Roosevelt in [March] 2018…”
But despite being a rare occurrence, it seems as though the operation was a successful one. Military officials confirm that the U.S. officials coordinated with the Iraqi military and took out a cave and three shelters used as ISIS hideouts.
Spokesman Army Col. Wayne Marotto said on Twitter Thursday that “operatives will continue to try and take advantage of safe havens; but there is no safe place for terrorists to hide.”

Standing Up To ISIS
President Donald Trump’s administration has taken a very strong stance against the terrorist organization ISIS in recent days. And this is just one example.
As Politifact has noted, President Donald Trump’s stances on deploying military officials against ISIS is largely responsible for the success against ISIS in recent days. According to them:
“Now, near the end of Trump’s term, ISIS appears to have largely fizzled out.”
And it’s airstrikes conducted by the U.S. military that are so successful in keeping ISIS down.
