President Trump has just ordered MASSIVE cuts to the National Security Council staff following the whistleblower complaint filed by a member of the CIA about Trump’s private phone call with the president of Ukraine.
Bloomberg gives the following report:
“President Donald Trump has ordered a substantial reduction in the staff of the National Security Council, according to five people familiar with the plans, as the White House confronts an impeachment inquiry touched off by a whistle-blower complaint related to the agency’s work.”
And honestly, this isn’t really a bad decision on Trumps part either. Everyone knows that departments in Washington are filled with corrupt actors willing to do anything to push their own agenda.
For example, James Comey was forced out of the FBI because it was revealed that he may have had political motivations for launching investigations against President Trump.
The same is true for John Brennan in the CIA.
And now there has been another update regarding the complaint filed by the whistleblower. A new report by the cofounder of The Federalist, Sean Davis, claims that the whistleblower may have committed perjury.
According to an official announcement by him on Twitter:
“UPDATE: @FDRLST has confirmed that the anti-Trump complainant signed the complaint form under penalty of perjury without disclosing prior contact w/ House Democrats regarding his allegations.”
If it is true that the whistleblower did commit perjury, then maybe Trump was right to cut back the National Security Council. It proves that the people associated with departments related to security in Washington need to be put in line.
The rules are being broken. And Trump is punishing the people who are breaking them.
