It’s official. President Donald Trump is finally bringing America’s troops home.

According to a new report released by Daily Mail, the Trump administration has just confirmed that it will be withdrawing more than 2,000 U.S. Troops from Iraq. The administration is also looking at options to withdraw troops from Afghanistan as well.

U.S. Troops Coming Home

According to ABC News, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie in remarks Wednesday in Baghdad said that the Trump administration is bringing home more troops, saying:

“In recognition of the great progress the Iraqi forces have made and in consultation and coordination with the Government of Iraq and our coalition partners, the United States has decided to reduce our troop presence in Iraq from about 5,200 to 3,000 troops during the month of September.”

General McKenzie says that troops are coming home because military operations in Iraq have been so successful. The decision was made out of strength, not weakness:

“This decision is due to our confidence in the Iraqi Security Forces’ increased ability to operate independently.”

Promises Made, Promises Kept

For years, President Donald Trump promised that he would get America out of “endless wars” overseas. And now it looks like it’s finally happening.

President Trump said that he wanted to stop fighting wars that only exist to make large companies money, saying that people at the Pentagon aren’t happy with his decisions:
