Former Congressman Trey Gowdy really got fired up.
In a recent interview on Fox News, Gowdy about lost it in response to the news that the FBI is just now starting to look into allegations of mishandling in the case against Michael Flynn. Gowdy even erupted, “What the hell have they been doing?”
Gowdy responded to the news that FBI Director Christopher Wray is now ordering an internal review of the Michael Flynn probe.
“It’s been four years. I mean, this this happened in 2016 and 2017. So, I mean, it’s not like he [Wray] just learned of the misconduct. We just learned of it, or some of your viewers just learned of it. He’s known about it since the day he became the FBI director.”
Gowdy even predicted that the technical crime the FBI tried to pin Flynn for was so small that it was going to “bore” the American public for being so small:
“I think when the transcripts are released, you’re gonna be bored out of your mind and you’re going to wonder, ‘This is criminal? This is enough to target a three star general? This conversation?'”
Bogus From The Start
We now know that the FBI illegally targeted Donald Trump and his administration. They used shady laws to rationalize spying on Donald Trump and his campaign. And they purposely tried to ruin the life of his campaign adviser, Michael Flynn.
But they were caught. Not only were recent transcripts released showing how corrupt the investigation was, but they even show that Michael Flynn’s supposed “crime” that they charged him with wasn’t even a serious one.
As Gowdy said, the FBI nailed Flynn on a technical crime that wasn’t even serious. And once the American people see the truth, it’s very likely that the scandal will blow up in the FBI’s face.
Will Comey Finally Pay?
Although it took a while to initially get started, this new investigation might lead to the punishment of James Comey – the man responsible for all of this.
That’s because the FBI is finally starting to take this seriously. They can’t pretend that Comey didn’t unfairly target Trump anymore. Especially after what the Justice Department recently did.
The FBI’s decision comes just two weeks after the Justice Department moved to drop its case against Flynn following the release of internal memos that raised questions about the nature of the investigation that led to Flynn’s December 2017 guilty plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.
The fact that the Justice Department moved to drop charges was downright embarrassing for the FBI, and has finally caused them to take action. They know that if they don’t make leaders like Comey pay the price, more heads will likely role after an even larger investigation is launched.
