The man took part in an FBI conspiracy to target and harass the president of the United States. And now he’s resigning.
The Department of Justice has just pressured FBI General Counsel Dana Boente into RESIGNING for the role he played in the bogus Russia investigation against President Donald Trump, according to Fox News.
Draining The Swamp
After it was finally revealed that the FBI was engaged in a plot to hurt President Donald Trump’s reputation with a completely fabricated Russian hoax, the FBI announced that it would be working to remove the officials involved.
After transcripts were released detailing that FBI officials were purposely targeting Donald Trump for politcal reasons, the FBI released the following statement confirming that they intended to punish those who were involved:
“Although the FBI does not have the prosecutorial authority to bring a criminal case, the Inspection Division can and will evaluate whether any current onboard employees engaged in actions that might warrant disciplinary measures.”
The Department of Justice also took action to denounce the disgraceful investigation, has moved to drop its prosecution of Flynn, amid harsh criticism of the bureau’s handling of the case including the original interview that led to his false-statements plea.
And now, NBC News has reported Boente’s retirement, saying he was asked to resign and citing pressure from the Justice Department over the FBI’s handling of the case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
And now Boente is resigning.
FBI Director Chris Wray, in a statement obtained by Fox News, confirmed Boente announced his decision to retire from federal service, beginning June 30.
Earlier this year, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., cited Boente as one of the numerous DOJ and FBI officials he hoped to interview as part of his investigation into the origins of the bureau’s probe into whether members of the Trump campaign were colluding with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. That’s because Graham thought he was one of the officials most involved in the disgraceful investigation of Trump.
Boente leaving the FBI is proof that investigators are serious about cracking down on the FBI. But maybe it’s not good enough. These people should absolutely be charged.
It’s Time For Criminal Charges?
Now it’s time for James Comey and the rest of his lot to get what’s coming to them. We now know without a doubt that James Comey and his colleagues knew that the investigation was bogus from the very beginning, but they went ahead with it anyway as a way to hurt Trump.
Allowing these people to resign isn’t good enough. They should actually be punished for what they did.
