America’s enemies are trying to kick us while we’re down. As the protests of George Floyd are happening across the country and as the United States is still recovering from the affects of the Coronavirus shutdown, Russia is trying to exploit the situation to grab more power.
According to a horrifying report by Fox News, the United States air force discovered and intercepted multiple Russian nuclear-capable bombing aircrafts in Alaska. U.S. fighter jets forced the bombers to land before they almost flew into United States airspace. According to the report, the Russian bombers came within 20 nautical miles of Alaskan shores almost prompting an international incident.
The event happened over neutral waters near the state of Alaska. Two Russian bombing plane formations were seen headed toward Alaska, prompting American fighter jets to intervene before they crossed over into American territory.
Both Russian formations were met by North American Aerospace Defense Command F-22 Raptors, and were led away to eventually land.
General Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy, NORAD Commander, commented on the interception, giving a brief statement in support of the pilots who prevented the breach of America’s territory by Russian bombers:
“Flying air patrols protects the approaches to our nations and sends a clear message we continue executing our homeland defense missions with the same capability and capacity we always bring to the fight.”
“Intercepting multiple Russian aircraft demonstrates NORAD forces’ readiness and capability to defend the homelands 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year”
An Act Of Aggression?
Why on earth would Russia send a bomber squadron into the United States? It’s simple. They want to test us.
It’s no coincidence that Russia sent over nuclear-capable bombers just weeks after claiming that it wanted to open talks with the U.S. this month on extending a nuclear disarmament treaty.
This was planned. They’re trying to intimidate us. And we can’t let them win.
