North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un just made a rare public admission. And not only that, but he was reportedly in tears while doing it..
According to a new report from the Washington Examiner, Kim Jong Un went on a tearful rant apologizing for North Korea’s mishandling of what he called “three hardships” — international sanctions, the coronavirus pandemic, and natural disasters.
Kim Jong Un Issues Tearful Apology
During a 75th anniversary event celebrating North Korea’s ruling party, a sobbing Kim Jong Un admitted that he has failed to live up to the demands of his people, saying:
“Our people have placed trust, as high as the sky and as deep as the sea, in me, but I have failed to always live up to it satisfactorily. I am really sorry for that.”
Kim Jong Un then apologized for not doing more to help his citizens, saying:
“Although I am entrusted with the important responsibility to lead this country upholding the cause of the great comrades Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il thanks to the trust of all the people, my efforts and sincerity have not been sufficient enough to rid our people of the difficulties in their lives.”
Many experts are writing off Kim Jong Un’s remarks as just another cleaver ruse to gain the world’s sympathy. Especially considering that the event was also the celebration of new weapons technology as well.
