Firebomb Attack Ignites Fury Over Visa Loopholes

Firebomb Attack Ignites Fury Over Visa Loopholes

ICE Takes Family of Boulder Terrorist Into Custody While Biden Administration Sits on 400,000 Visa Overstays

In a rare display of common sense and accountability, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that the family of an Egyptian terrorist who firebombed pro-Israel demonstrators has been taken into federal custody. Mohamed Soliman, an Egyptian national who conveniently overstayed his visa, allegedly hurled a firebomb at peaceful pro-Israel protesters in Boulder, Colorado, injuring at least 15 people. This attack exposes the gaping holes in our immigration system that the Biden administration seems determined to ignore. With approximately 400,000 visa overstays in fiscal year 2023 alone, America has essentially become a revolving door for potential terrorists who can simply disappear into the country after their visas expire.

Family Members Under Investigation as Possible Terror Accomplices

In a move that should be standard operating procedure but somehow feels revolutionary in Biden’s America, ICE and HSI officials have taken Soliman’s wife and five children into federal custody. These family members aren’t just being held for their own immigration violations – they’re being investigated for potential knowledge or support of Soliman’s terrorist activities. This raises the uncomfortable question that the left refuses to address: how many family units entering our country are bringing terrorist ideologies with them?

“Today, @DHSgov and @ICEGov are taking the family of suspected Boulder, Colorado terrorist, and illegal alien, Mohamed Soliman, into ICE custody. This terrorist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are investigating to what extent his family knew about this heinous attack, if they had knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it. I am continuing to pray for the victims of this attack and their families. Justice will be served.” – Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem

Soliman faces multiple serious charges including attempted first-degree murder, hate crimes, and use of explosives. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 624 years in prison – which honestly seems too lenient for someone who tried to burn Americans alive for supporting Israel. The attack involved throwing a glass bottle that exploded into flames at the pro-Israel demonstration, a tactic commonly used by terrorists in the Middle East but now conveniently imported to Colorado along with Soliman himself.

The Visa Overstay Crisis: 400,000 Potential Threats Wandering America

Former FBI special agent Jonathan Gilliam has accurately identified visa overstays as a massive national security issue that the Biden administration seems determined to ignore. Soliman entered the U.S. on a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa in August 2022, which was supposed to expire in February 2023. Yet somehow, despite overstaying his welcome, he managed to secure work authorization until March 2025. Because nothing says “American security” like giving extended work permits to people who’ve already violated our immigration laws.

“All of this has to be looked at, but just looking at what happened in Boulder, that could happen over and over again because the system of monitoring people who are here on a visa is almost nonexistent once they get in here,” Gilliam said. “And if they’re idealistic or if they get cultivated to believe in a radical way, there’s nothing stopping them.” – Jonathan Gilliam

The Department of Homeland Security reported around 400,000 suspected visa overstays in fiscal year 2023 alone. That’s 400,000 people who entered legally but decided our immigration laws are optional. We have no idea where they are, what they’re doing, or whether they’re planning the next Boulder attack. But hey, at least we’re focusing on the real threats – like parents at school board meetings and Trump supporters taking unauthorized Capitol tours.

America’s Immigration System: A Terrorist’s Dream

The most infuriating aspect of this case is how Soliman gamed our system while plotting violence against Americans. Despite overstaying his visa, he managed to secure employment at both Vero Health and Uber, who confirmed his employment and valid work authorization. Our immigration system has become so dysfunctional that a potential terrorist can overstay his visa, get rewarded with work authorization, secure multiple jobs, and still have time to firebomb Americans exercising their First Amendment rights.

“We have to come up with better ways to track them, people who will vouch for them. And if we have that in place, along with policies that back the laws, it’ll be much easier to determine who is here, where they are, and if they’ve overstayed,” he said. – Jonathan Gilliam

This attack didn’t happen in a vacuum. It happened because our government has deliberately chosen to prioritize open borders over national security. It happened because tracking visa overstays is apparently too much work for an administration that would rather chase political opponents than actual terrorists. And it will happen again unless we fundamentally reform our immigration system to prioritize American safety over endless migration. The Boulder attack isn’t just a crime – it’s a predictable consequence of policies that put Americans last.
