Dolly Parton Responds To Black Lives Matter
In her interview, Parton said that she believe that African Americans matter just as much as Caucasian Americans:
“And of course Black lives matter. Do we think our little white a*ses are the only ones that matter? No!”
Parton also clarified that she has never once in her life intentionally tried to hurt any group of people, saying she was guilty of “innocent ignorance” and “would never dream of hurting anybody on purpose.”
Parton used to own a show called the Dixie Stampede, but eventually changed the name because she wanted everyone to feel invited:
“When they said ‘Dixie’ was an offensive word, I thought, ‘Well, I don’t want to offend anybody. This is a business. We’ll just call it The Stampede. ‘As soon as you realize that [something] is a problem, you should fix it. Don’t be a dumb*ss. That’s where my heart is.”
Dolly Parton then confirmed that although her business has been hit hard by Coronavirus, she will do her best for the future.
