Democrats in power have been using the Coronavirus outbreak as an excuse to persecute Christians. It’s gotten so bad that the Anti-Trump governors and mayors alike have ordered churches to remain closed for supposedly being “non-essential” during the outbreak. Anyone who goes to church may actually face jail time.
But thankfully, the Department of Justice is finally stepping in. Attorney General William Barr has been notified about the religious persecution, and he has confirmed that he will take action to stop the abuse, according to Fox News.
The Department Of Justice’s Director of Communications Kerri Kupec is the one who initially confirmed Barr’s decision, writing on Twitter:
“During this sacred week for many Americans, AG Barr is monitoring govt regulation of religious services. While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly & not single out religious orgs. Expect action from DOJ next week!”
The Democrat War Against Religion
The DOJ move would come as some churches are standing up to city governments that have blocked them from holding in-person services during the outbreak — even in “drive-in” formats that keep people separated and in their own cars.
A judge in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday was even forced to issue a temporary restraining order blocking enforcement of Mayor Greg Fischer’s ban on drive-in church services there.
“The Mayor’s decision is stunning,” District Judge Justin Walker, a former clerk to Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, wrote in a memorandum to the order. “And it is, ‘beyond all reason,’ unconstitutional.”
The fact that Democrats think it’s ok to declare war against church during this outbreak is exactly why action needs to be taken. They don’t care about religious liberty. And they don’t care about the constitution.
Fighting Back Against Tyranny
Attorneys with the Alliance Defending Freedom have filed a lawsuit challenging that order on behalf of the Temple Baptist Church in Greenville.
Kelly Shackelford, president of the First Liberty Institute, argued in an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Friday that the city’s order “is just massively unconstitutional.”
“It targets churches in a way that it targets no other group,” he said. “Cars in parking lots are fine. It’s only a crime if the cars in the parking lot are at the church parking lot.”
The entire Constitution was written with the idea of self governance. We have completely flipped the script and decided the government knows what is “best for us.”
It’s time for William Barr to punish these government officials under the full extent of the law. The constitution and religious liberty of every American should be protected at all costs.
